Just noticed two places that aren’t on your Lansing hit list
– The Exchange
– The Knight Cap
Before we hastily picked up and moved out of Lansing, we actually had plans to go to the Knight Cap for my birthday (which is tomorrow)….I even almost made reservations before we left town for the wedding. J ate there when she interviewed for the job in Lansing. Was turned off by the smokiness and she’s not much of a beefeater. Loved the intimacy of the place though and was willing to give it a second chance after they went smoke free.
I didn’t even realize The Exchange served food.
A new sports bar & restaraunt in Fraser, MI. Great atmosphere, good food and really nice staff. They have two projection televisions, 13 flat screens, perfect place to watch a game. Warning, don’t go if you don’t want to have fun! Check it out for yourself!

Enso Review

When I think about restaurants in the East Lansing area, Enso is not the first thing I envision. However, that’s what makes it so notable. It has a Vegas-vibe (the good vibe, I assure you) that one doesn’t expect to see in its remote location. When you’re approaching Enso, you get an immediate upscale feel. It’s almost intimidating, but instantly comfortable when you’re through the doors. This restaurant /bar/lounge combination has a sophisticated, classy and Zen-like atmosphere. The space is beautifully designed and it’s perfect for all sorts of entertaining needs. I happened to go on Wednesday night, which is when the local jazz musician delivers a smooth performance that matched my glass of Pinot Noir. Dinner consisted of Vegetable Tempura and Calamari, both nicely complimented with a sweet chili dipping sauce. We were served generous portions for fair prices. At this point, my spirits were high, and I’m assuming that’s the effect they are hoping for. It’s nice to have a reliable spot in mind when I need to plan a birthday party or small get together. Gourmet food, attentive staff, a plethora of fine wines and pleasing aesthetics. Enso gets an elated two thumbs up.
