L & L Food Center on West Saginaw Highway in Lansing.

When I visited the L & L Food Center in Holt a few weeks ago, the thing I noticed is that their meats are much cheaper than the other grocery stores.  After hitting the Farmer’s Market at the State Capitol, I needed to find some chicken to go with some of the things we bought.  We needed to go out near the Lansing Mall.  I rememered seeing an L & L on W. Saginaw, so that’s the one I hit up. 

The thing I noticed about this L & L is that it’s much brighter and much more inviting than the one in Holt.  The layout is pretty similar, but the aisle’s seemed much longer here.  Unlike the one in Holt, the frozen foods are at the end of the store instead of in the middle. 

I went straight to the back to find the chicken.  It took me a little while because the chicken wasn’t in a case along the wall.  It was in a freezer case in the middle of the aisle.  Like I rememered, the boneless skinless chicken breasts were almost half the price they were at Kroger.  Still not as cheap as I hoped, I picked up one for dinner tonight.

On my way to check out, I headed down the pasta aisle for some reason and remembered another reciped I was going to try this week.  We picked up some veggies at the farmer’s market, but I needed some whole wheat pasta.  They actually had a pretty good selection of cuts.  I was looking for fettuccini and they had it.

Overall, good shopping experience.  I got what I intended to get and it was much quicker than going to a mega-mart.
