I just noticed that HB 6187 and 6188 passed the House on June 11. In reading the analysis for the bills, it looks to me like there has been a problem with brewpubs participating in beer festivals. The way the law is currently written, brewpubs can only sell their product to be consumed at their licensed facility.
These two bills would do two things. Allow brewpubs to sell their beer and special liscense holders to buy the beer. The bill was crafted for the Michigan Brewers Guild which holds two beer festivals a year. Over 200 beers from 30 breweries will be featured, but none from a brewpub.
Back in Peoria, IL, the Jaycees hold a BeerFest every spring. This thing is HUGE. The hotels would fill up and there would be thousands of people’s jammed into the fairgrounds where it was held. This was a huge moneymaking event for the Jaycees. I only went once because I really don’t get into the micro-brews, but for people that do, this was the place to be.
I think this is great legislation for Michigan. Why shouldn’t brewpubs be able to show off their creations too? The House transmitted the bill to the Senate which has referred the bill to the Economic Development an Regulatory Reform Committee. I’ll update when I see more.
I’ve learn some excellent stuff here. Definitely price bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how so much attempt you set to make this kind of great informative site.
When I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a
comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment.
There has to be an easy method you can remove me from that service?
Thanks a lot!
always i used to read smaller content which also clear their motive,
and that is also happening with this piece of writing which I am reading at this time.
