I got an e-mail from my sources (hehehe…I have sources 🙂 ) that the Achatz Pie Company is one of the finalist in Good Morning America’s “Best Slice Challenge”
Achatz Pie Company got it’s start in Armand Armada, MI just east of Flint in the 1990’s. They expanded to six stores in the Detroit area. Apparently, GMA will be in Chesterfield, just east of Detroit, on Friday to shoot a segment that will air on Sunday. There are two other finalist. One is in Mississippi and one is in Kansas. Next week, America will be able to “vote” on the best slice and the winner will be announced next weekend on Good Morning America Weekend. Michigan has had good luck in these contests before. Moomer’s Homemade Ice Cream in Traverse City (review HERE) won a similar contest last spring.

It IS the best pie in the world !!! Michigan Four Berry pie from Achatz Pie Co. in Michigan is to “die for”. I live near Armada, where the company started baking pies. Over the years we have had the pie for many a celebratory occasion or just for no reason at all. Actually, all of their pies are yummy good, but the 4-berry is outstanding.
