Looks like I’m gonna need some restaurant recommendations for Grand Rapids as well. We couldn’t find a hotel for under $100 in Traverse City, so instead of spending two days in the Cherry Capitol, we’ll just spend one then head back and spend Saturday in Grand Rapids. Any good places for lunch and dinner….or any places between Grand Rapids and Lansing that we have to hit for dinner?
Any shops or markets we should check out in Grand Rapids as well…or just in anything in general you would suggest to first time visitors?
Fricano’s Pizza is supposedly a must go for the west half of the state. I don’t know if the location in Grand Rapids is as good as the one in Muskegon.
The B.O.B. in downtown G.R. is pretty nice if you are there on a night when it has a crowd, although most of the restaurants are a bit overpriced.
There is a Chop House in GR…I have not been there but have heard it is a very good fine dining/steakhouse. One of my all time favorite restaurants is in GR. It is San Chez. It is a Spanish restaurant. They have a great tapas menu. It is awesome. http://www.sanchezbistro.com.
Zach mentions Fricano’s. I blogged on that after we went to Grand Haven over memorial day weekend. Here is the link to my post. http://runswithspatula.blogspot.com/2008/05/fricanos-pizza-tavern-grand-haven.html
G.R. has great restaurants, but to be totally honest, every time I go there I end up at San Chez. I know I need to get out and try others, but it is so good.
