I saw the cafe at Zehnder’s when we were walking around. There were just so many people around and we had already eaten. I’d like to try the chicken since that’s what Frankenmuth really seems to be known for. Glad there’s an option besides the all you can eat cholesterol fest.

1) I think you already found the Dairy Store at MSU, but just in case I have to rave about their cheese for a good option close to home! And their grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing! On Mondays, they have free tomato soup to go with them…we went today, and I spent on a total of $3.10 and got a colby-jack grilled cheese on multi-grain, tomato soup & a 20 oz. diet coke!

2) If you go back towards Frankenmuth and want to try the chicken dinners without such a huge bill, Zehnder’s has a cafe downstairs with all the goodies for more reasonable prices. It’s been awhile, but I remember getting a two-piece chicken dinner with their buttered noodles (my absolute fave side) and another side for a decent price. My dad’s side of the family goes to Bavarian Inn every other Christmas and I love it, but I agree that it’s expensive for a regular visit.
